During the parade, Ðǿմ«Ã½ students will see a few military bands such as the Marine Band from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; a Navy fleet band from Norfolk, Virginia; and the North Carolina National Guard Band.

"We are visiting Fort Fisher because of its significance in the overall victory for the Union in the Civil War," Walters said. "Within a few months, Gen. Robert E. Lee would surrender the Confederate forces to Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Court House, Virginia."
