Training and Education Opportunities

Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus community is a shared responsibility. The University offers a variety of in-person and online training programs designed to help every member of our community understand their rights, responsibilities, and available resources under Title IX and related university policies.

If you would like to schedule a customized training for your department, office, student organization, or academic class, please contact the Title IX Office at TitleIX@ung.edu.

In-Person Training Sessions

Our in-person trainings provide interactive learning environments where participants can ask questions, engage in discussion, and practice real-world skills. While we can work with you to tailor a program to meet your needs, we currently can do programs on:

Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response

Learn how the University defines, prevents, and responds to sexual misconduct. This session covers reporting options, supportive measures, confidential resources, and what to expect during a Title IX process.

Bystander Intervention

This training equips participants with practical strategies to safely and effectively intervene when they witness concerning behavior. Topics include recognizing warning signs, understanding barriers to intervention, and applying proven intervention techniques.

Pregnancy and Parenting Support Under Title IX

This session explains the rights of pregnant and parenting students and employees, including supportive measures. Participants will learn how to connect individuals with the Title IX Office for assistance.

Online Modules

Ðǿմ«Ã½ assigns population-specific online sexual assault prevention training via Vector Solutions to all new, transfer, and dual-enrolled students, as well as new employees. All new students will receive an email from Vector soon after the semester's add/drop date, and new employees will receive an email after their hire date.

In addition, Vector offers optional training courses on topics such as:

  • Dating/Domestic Violence
  • Consent
  • Bystander Intervention
  • Human Trafficking
  • Understanding Trauma

Materials Used to Train Those Involved in the Grievance Process

The 2020 Office of Civil Rights regulations [§ 106.45(b)(1)(iii) & § 106.45(b)(10)(i)(D)] require the posting of “all materials used to train Title IX Coordinators, investigators, decision-makers, and any person who facilitates an informal resolution process.” 34 C.F.R. 106.45(b)(10)(i)(D). These training materials must also be retained for seven years.

As part of their training, they learn from the most up-to-date training materials appropriate for their roles. You can review those same materials here:
